Founded in 2011, by Peter Gird and Justin Bonello, Cooked in Africa Films has consistently produced original, creative and award winning content since it's inception

Situated in Cape Town, South Africa, Cooked in Africa Films supports a vertical model, retaining pre-production, production and post-production services in-house, enabling the company to take ownership of the creative and production process, thereby maintaining world class standards and ensuring a consistent and seamless delivery of content to broadcasters and clients.

Cooked in Africa Films has produced over 23 television series and delivered more than 150 hours of programming across various genres to broadcasters as diverse as BBC International, Sky Network, National Geographic, Discovery, Food Network, Travel Channel and local South African broadcasters MNet, e.tv and SABC – to name but a few.

About

PETER GIRD | EXECUTIVE PRODUCER

Peter started work at Ogilvy in Cape Town and quickly forged a very successful career becoming the youngest shareholder and a member of the board all before he was 30-years old. He then went on to form a hugely successful, multi-award winning  commercial production company, called Peter Gird Productions.  Thereafter he formed a next generation production company called 2.0 Media which specialised in branded entertainment. He then partnered with Justin Bonello to create Cooked in Africa Films

JUSTIN BONELLO | CREATIVE DIRECTOR

Is father to Daniel, Samuel and Gabriella, husband to Eugenie, has 3 dogs and two chickens, ripped up his front lawn because he doesn't eat grass. Is busy earning his green fingers and has been burning his fingers on the open fire for longer than he can remember.
